Pool Update

During the month of January 2010, the Board created a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the Construction Manager or Owner's Representative position. The advertisement yielded 15 firms expressing interest in this position. From the 15 firms that contacted us, 7 firms submitted actually proposals, one firm dropped out, while 4 firms were selected for final interviews. Interviews were conducted by a group of homeowners with varying degrees of construction backgrounds and pool experience. Consilium Partners was selected.

Consilium Partners provides Greenfield will the professional expertise to review and the Design-Build documents, architectural renderings, contracts, monitor schedules and budgets, and communicate with all parties during the process. Their extensive pool building history and expertise with poor soils includes the following successful projects:

  • Ritz Carlton Rancho Mirage
  • Ritz Carlton Kapalua, Maui
  • Inn at Beaver Creek Hotel
  • Summit High School
  • Lodge at Vail
  • Summit Synthetic Turf Field
  • City of Boulder - Public Work Projects
  • Grand Hyatt Denver
  • Shining Mountain Waldorf School

The Engineers for our project have engineering degrees from the Colorado School of Mines and other professional credentials. Their combined years of engineering and project management experiencing, solid communication skills and preparation, and their strong references sold the CM selection committee on their firm. The Board welcomes John Bill and Bryan Carruthers from Consilium Partners, LLC.

During the month of February, the Board's initial work with Consillum was to create the RFP for the General Contractor (GC). The RFP is being advertised presently and we are accepting proposals. The RFP is also being advertised on the Greenfield website. The Board is utilizing AIA documents and processes recommended by Consilium. These documents and processes are being modified to fit our project needs. Our next step is to select the General Contractor that will manage the construction of the pool and provide a firm cost estimate for the project. Once the Board has these figures, another community meeting will be held in April. At this meeting the Board will present the cost of the pool with corrections for safety issues and no cost items- such as changing entry level depths. The upgrades or options have been priced separately and will also be presented. The date and time of this meeting will be sent in future communications as the Board receives the costing information.
